We’ve made the game more challenging without making it impossible, and here’s what you can expect:
Major Changes:
- Dark and Ghost Switcheroo: Ghost moves are now special-based, and Dark moves are physical-based.
- Move Updates: All moves have been adjusted to match their base power from later generations.
- Waterfall Flinch Effect: Waterfall now includes the flinch effect from later generations.
- Steel-Type Spike Cannon: Spike Cannon has been retyped to Steel.
- Sprite Changes: Many sprites have been updated.
- Pokemon Availability: Most Pokemon can be caught, except for Gen 3 Pokemon.
- Updated Trainer Teams: Almost all trainers, including gym leaders and special trainers, have updated teams.
- Improved AI: Trainer AI has been enhanced for a more challenging experience.
- Updated Move Sets: Move lists for Gen 1-2 Pokemon have been updated to mostly reflect their learnable/teachable moves from Gen 7, with some adjustments for Gen 3 Pokemon.
- More Freedom: Many trees requiring Cut have been removed, allowing more freedom to challenge gyms sooner and even avoid Viridian Forest.
- Reusable TMs: All TMs can be used multiple times.
- New Evolution Methods: Pokemon that evolve by special items (like Seadra and Poliwhirl) now evolve using the Moon Stone (excluding Gen 3 Pokemon), and trade evolutions (like Golem and Machamp) now evolve at Level 50.
- Eevee Evolutions: Eevee can now evolve into Espeon or Umbreon using the Sun Stone or Moon Stone.
- Buyable Items: All evolution stones are available at the Celadon Department Store, and items like Ether are now buyable.
- Fly Locations: Fly locations have been added to useful areas such as the Power Plant.
