Mew is a Pokémon having a pinky appearance, mammalian features. It has a short, broad snout and blue eyes and ears which look a bit triangular. It has short arms with three-fingered paws and its legs are long with oval marking on the feet and a tail with an oval tip.

Mew is purely a Psychic-type Pokémon; it is one of the most adorable Pokémon’s that you can find in the game. Do not go by Mew’s looks as this pink squishy Pokémon is also one the strongest.

Mythical Pokemon Mew showcases intelligence, playfulness and curiosity, and even selflessness. It is very adaptable and can travel competently in both the air and water. According to researchers, Mew is the source of every Pokémon DNA, and therefore, it can replicate moves of other Pokémons.

Though Mew possesses traits of other Pokémons, it is still vulnerable to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type Pokémons. It can resist attacks from Fighting and Psychic-types. Mew starts with 210 base attack power, 210 defense, and 225 stamina.

Mew is one of the legends in the game, and just like you desire to catch one, there are many others as well. Buckle up, and it is a long journey. Catching a Mew is quite tricky. But do not worry, I have got you covered. Here is what you have to do to catch a Mew.

To catch a Mew, you need to take part in the Mythical Discovery, also known as The Kanto Tour Event.

The Mythical Discovery:

Mew, Psychic-type Pokémon, Pokemon Go, Pokemon Go Map, Pokemon Go tricks, Pokemon, All Pokemon, Pokemon Go Cheats, Pokemon Expert, pokemon go tips, Mythical Discovery, The Kanto Tour Event

Step 1:

The first step is pretty simple. In this step, all you have to do is catch ten Pokémon and transfer any 5 of them.

To do this, if you can stock a good amount of pokeballs, it will be great for you. Once you transfer, you will receive candies on the exchange, which can help you evolve your Pokémon.

Rewards: 10 Great Balls, 1 Super Incubator, and three berries.

Step 2:

Before we tell you the second step, I’d like to tell you that this game allows one Pokémon to accompany you, which stays outside their Pokeball the whole time. For example, Pikachu is Ash’s buddy.

The second step is about walking a certain distance with your buddy, which will help you earn candies. You will be asked to make ten great throws and hatch three eggs.

Rewards: 20 Great Balls, 2000 Stardust, and 3 Incense.

Step 3:

After completing the initial stages, when you reach step 3, you will realize that the game is getting challenging for you. You need to reach level 15 to compete in this quest. You need to take part in 2 raids and battle twice in a gym.

If you happen to be a beginner, start catching Pokémon’s and hatching eggs, which will help you gain experience.

To engage in a gym battle, you have to find a gym on your map and travel to it. Once you reach there, you will be able to fight with Pokémon of the gym.

Rewards: 1 quick TM, 1 Charged TM and, 2 Star Pieces.

Step 4:

In this stage, you have to earn a Silver Kanto Medal, evolve 20 of your Pokémon’s, and make five additional candies walking your buddy.

In this game, when you earn medals, you unlock several achievements. The Kanto Medal is achieved when you log into the Pokemon GO Kanto Region, and the Pokedex should have info over 150 Pokémon’s; this means you should have an encounter but not capture them. If your Pokedex has 50 Pokémon’s, you will have your Silver Kanto Medal.

Rewards: 4000 Stardust, three berries, and 20 Great Balls.

Step 5:

The fifth quest is quite tricky. You will be asked to catch a Ditto and 10 Ghost-type Pokémon’s. Not only that, but also you will have to make 20 Great throws.

Now, Ditto is a Pokémon that can easily disguise like another Pokémon. It can transform itself. Yes, it can make things challenging. Ditto often disguises itself as Pidgey, Rattata, Mankey, Zubat, Gastly, Hoothoot, Yaanma, Ramoraid. If you see it on the map, it is a great idea to go after them. If you are lucky enough, you can have an encounter and catch a ditto.

Let me give you this piece of advice, these creatures are pretty tough to catch, and there are nearly 10 Ghost-type Pokémon in the game. And, going after its name, these creatures tend to appear during night time, say, between 7 pm to 6 am. You can search for them at parks or playgrounds, or even cemeteries.

Rewards: 15 revive potions, 1 Lucky Egg, and 1 Premium Raid Pass.

Step 6:

This quest is a bit time-consuming. First, you need to be level 25, evolve a Magikarp to Gyarados, take part in 10 Raid Battles. Evolving a Magikarp requires 400 Candies to reach their final stage. As it is a Water-type Pokemon., you can easily find it near the water bodies.

Rewards: 3 incense, 6000 Stardust, and 5 Rare Candies.

Step 7:

This quest can be a long one for you, Trainer.

This quest asks you to catch 50 Pokémon’s using Pinap, Razz, or Golden Razz berries. You have to earn a Gold Kanto Medal and perform an Excellent Curveball Throw.

To earn the Gold Kanto Medal by completing the Kanto Event, your Pokedex should have about 100 Pokémon from the Kanto Region.

Razz Berries increases the chance of success while catching Pokémon. Make sure you have a good amount of stock. You can collect these from Pokestops, Gyms, leveling up, and battling bosses.

It is not easy to perform excellent curveball throws. Make sure you practice and master your throw.

Rewards: 1 Mythical Pokemon Encounter, 8000 Stardust, and 20 Ultra Balls.

Step 8:

If you made it this far, there no way that you miss the chance, Trainer! Mew has a 100% capture rate, and it flee rate is almost equal to 0%. It is not that hard but still does go easy, be calm and cautious. Mew tends to move around a lot during an ongoing battle. Keep some good stock of pokeballs and razz berry, pinap berry, in case you miss.

Rewards: 1 incubator, 20 Mew Candies, and 10,000 Stardust.

Things to Keep in Mind While Doing This Task:

Catching Mew primarily focuses on Special Research Tasks. As stated above, Mew has a flee rate of 0%, but it is pretty tricky to catch because it tends to move around a lot during a battle.

So, you have to master your skills of battling and throwing pokeballs, and also, you have to know the right time to make a throw. Also, you will require a lot of berries because, in this quest guide, you will have an encounter with Ditto, which can be very challenging.

Therefore, do not forget to stock some pokeballs and Silver and Golden Razz Berries, Pinap Berries. These play a vital role while you are trying to catch a Pokémon.

You need to fulfill the requirement of your Pokedex and pay attention to the Pokémon you need to catch and evolve.

Good luck!
